Eurojuris is forging ahead with initiatives designed to support members and strengthen connectivity in 2021. Reflecting on how the coronavirus pandemic has forced new ways of working across the world, President Olivier Vibert has spoken about the network’s response and his plans for the months ahead.
“Although the last year has been a challenge for a network founded on relationships, it has made us more innovative,” he explained. “It has focused our attention on exploring different ways to share and learn, when international travel and face-to-face meetings are not an option.”
With the cancellation of in-person events, including the major international congress in Paris, members have been offered new digital ways to engage, through live online webinars and networking. Latest to join the schedule is the Tea Time virtual initiative, enabling members to meet informally online and make new contacts or catch up with old friends.
“There will be further digital initiatives in the coming months,” added Olivier, who practises with IFL Avocats in Paris, “but enabling members to meet in person is an important objective once the situation improves.”
The president also intends to develop the network’s practice groups, which play a vital role in sharing specialist knowledge across jurisdictions. This will involve expanding online and offline activities and raising the profile of established groups, while supporting the launch of the newest group, in Private Wealth.
Building the world-wide member base is another important objective for Olivier, with jurisdictions such as Canada, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Greece, and Sweden in his sights.
Alongside, he plans to develop the network’s group purchasing for discounted services and practice tools to add further value for members.
He explained: “This is an exciting time for the network and there are many opportunities ahead. Raising the network’s profile and expanding internationally will benefit us all, and we are fortunate to have a highly committed board, secretary general and communications team, all focused on delivering for Eurojuris.”
