Following our congress in Tenerife last month, EJ Denmark member Niels Eriksen has been elected president of our international network. To get to know him better, we asked a few questions to some who know him well...
“When I'm in trouble, which is not too often, he's my personal lawyer, and he's great!” claims Michael Vesthardt, a lawyer from Copenhagen. He is an enthusiastic fan of Niels: “From the start, I recognised him as a very open-minded, proactive, positive person. He definitely is not the kind to bring small problems into big issues: he's all for solutions, very straightforward. He is a very trustworthy person, and all this while being very busy with his work and his family. These are good qualities in a president!”
Niels made also a strong impression on Susan Jorgensen, the incumbent president of Eurojuris Denmark. “The first time I met him, I thought: what a nice and handsome person!” she says with a laugh. “He worked very hard on our national network here in Denmark. He is very dedicated to Eurojuris. He devised a presentation for us and coordinated efforts on our new website, which is in the process of being progressively launched. And he did all that while being busy with his position at the board of Eurojuris International.”
According to Michael, Niels represents the success of a new generation of Eurojuris members. “When I first met him years ago, he was among the youngest members. He is a very good example of how we successfully integrated younger lawyers into the network and its management, and the first example of a member going from young recruit all the way to the top.” Welcome then, Niels, to the top of Eurojuris!
