JURISMUS - Why investing in young lawyers ?

Promoting and facilitating collaboration between young lawyers is essential to our well established and renown Eurojuris International.

For the past 10 years, JURISMUS has been brilliantly lead by dynamic members form 650 law firms investing time and effort to offer a wide variety of business facilitation & training opportunities.

The JUMP programme, standing for JUrismus Marketing Partnership, works a little like an ERASMUS programme and offers individual exchanges between two Jurismussers. This marketing programme, set up by Jurismus International, encourages young lawyers from our world wide network to exchange with their peers abroad and market their law firms during their stay. 

Sven Farbrot, lawyer at Advokatfirma Tofte DA in Norway and active member of the Jurismus Board is thrilled  : “We had the pleasure of coordinating three JUMP exchanges this year.  These opportunities are unique and provide a great learning curve to our lawyers under the age of forty.  This programme ties strong bonds among our Jurismus community and provides a significant added value to our colleagues”.

The exchange is planned between three and five days. The actual programme during their stay is very versatile and depends on the intention and ambition of each participating lawyer.  During their stay, young lawyers are exposed to a variety of hands-on experiences, business visits & client facing meetings, congresses & conferences of interest, Court and Chamber of Commerce visits, networking opportunities, etc.
    
Regular webinars are also scheduled on regular basis and accessible to all Jurismus members. Focussed of various legal aspects and facilitated by known subject matter experts, these lectures offer a wide range of skill sets and leave plenty of time for discussions and Q&As to all participants.

Annual events like the upcoming JURISMUS meeting from 16th to 18th June 2016 are essential; enabling the younger generation of lawyers to meet face to face, develop partnerships and get involved in numerous professional sessions and activities both interesting and entertaining such as mock trials. The speakers selected are always of pristine reputation and considered experts in their fields.  This year, Andrew Headway is given the opportunity to engage them on client acquisition. Mark Daubney, from Stamp Jackson & Procter LLP, organiser and host of this year’s annual meeting in Hull, Yorkshire tells us: “Our networking activities and social events aim to give young lawyers the confidence to approach and understand other professionals, gain connections in all professional sectors, and most importantly develop a trusting relationship for the future”.
