Norwegian Spring Meeting

Norwegian Spring Meeting

Our Norwegian network gathered in numbers last month. Their spring meeting was a great success counting 120 participants, with representation from all of the 15 nationwide law firms.

This turnup is definitely of significance as the number of attendees literally quadrupled over the past decade.

We asked Bjarte Royrvik, President of Eurojuris Norway, how he explains the success of the network and the services provided to its members: “We focus on enthusiasm and commitment by providing cost-benefits and added value. The savings that the firms currently enjoy exceed the fees they pay. Joint purchasing agreements, such as databases, mean substantial savings for our member firms.”

“Our bi-annual congresses also offer our participating lawyers continuous legal education credits. Moreover, our Practice Groups ensure their professional developments in numerous fields of law, such as employment, real estate, company and tax, insolvency and bankruptcy, law of damages and persons including family law.” Bjarte adds: “We really try to extend our cooperation beyond the bi-annual meetings. We encourage best practice discussions and shared knowledge initiatives like joint marketing efforts aimed at both existing and potential clients.”

Tell us a little more about your membership base

“Our membership base consists of small and medium sized firms, from 3 to 32 lawyers. These firms are based in nearly all parts of the country. They all have strong expertise, benefit from good local knowledge and are considered leading firms in their regions. Almost 25% of our members are under the age of 40; they are a very dynamic group who also take part in JURISMUS activities regularly.”

Can you tell us a little more about your new business framework agreement?

“Eurojuris Norway has since 2011 been cooperating with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises, ensuring that the Confederation’s 24,000 members have priority access to high-quality legal services at a reduced rate. Additionally, Eurojuris Norway has recently been approached by IF – the largest insurance company in the Nordic countries. We have a good standing in Norway, and as a result, IF wants to refer to us cases where their customers have legal aid coverage as an integral part of their insurance. Such new business opportunities are no doubt a direct result of Eurojuris’ recognition as a quality brand.“

Lastly, Eurojuris Norway will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next 4th to 6th November at the outstanding Scandic Homnenkollen Park Hotel in Oslo.

What can the participants look forward to?

“We are planning on making this event memorable with a Management Day, plenty of networking and training activities and a great dinner party”.
